Let's Eat Restaurant Review: Fish City Grill
Edmond has a new little neighborhood fish grill. The Fish City Grill opened five months ago and has quickly become a hot spot, popular for lunch and dinner-on Friday nights, the line has been known to extend out the door.

I was pleasantly surprised when my husband Joe and I entered and did not encounter the fish smell I expected. Should anyone in your party not be partial to fish, never fear-there are items on the menu they should find inviting. As an added bonus, the staff is helpful and informative.

Fish City Grill offers an inventive service-the opportunity to sample a dish you might want to order. Joe tried a sample of oyster nachos and clam chowder and I tried the rice and beans. With such a preview, you can boldly order something you might not have tried before.

The seafood specials change from lunch to dinner using fresh fish flown in daily. With such variety, you could easily enjoy Fish City twice in one day. Your wait staff will inform you of the daily specials.

Besides the items we sampled, we enjoyed an order of hush puppies ($1.99) as an appetizer. These crispy little balls of cornmeal and spices are accompanied by a tasty remoulade sauce.
I ordered the crab cake sandwich ($6.49), a large crab cake on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and remoulade sauce. Sandwiches come with a side of waffle fries or slaw. I ordered the fries and though they were covered with visible seasonings, they did not have strong flavor.

Joe ordered the blackened Fish City Sandwich ($6.29), a fresh tilapia fillet that can be grilled, blackened, or fried on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and remoulade sauce. He ordered the side of slaw with a vinegar and oil dressing-he declared it light and tasty.
The homemade bread pudding ($3.99) seemed a perfect end to our fish meal with a southern theme, so we shared an order. Made daily at the restaurant, Fish City's bread pudding is unlike most-it contains pecans instead of raisins, a change I greatly appreciated. It was covered with a caramel whiskey sauce. This is a large dessert that could easily be shared by several diners. We found the dish improved with each bite. Even so, we weren't making much headway. Our waitress seemed concerned that we did not like the pudding and informed us that if their customers don't like a dish, Fish City Grill will buy it back.

Here, customer satisfaction is a primary concern. Isn't that how it should be?
